Analyzing the Logic of Writing

This section deals with the proper method to analyze a writing or media piece with particular attention to the logical arguements it presents.

Activity 1 - Analysis

1. Perform a web search or use newspapers or magazines to locate a document that is a commentary or opinion piece about a recent news item.
2. Read the item you have chosen. At this point, you are reading only for pleasure.
3. Read the article a second time. During this second reading refer to the guide and make notes that will help you complete the guide.
4. Complete the guide and re-write the answers in a short paragraph/report.
